Look & Live

Jesus Christ is asking the world to look at Him and be saved

Look and Live!

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.  And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.” – Numbers 21:8-9

Notice here that God did not take away the serpent and its bite (symbolizing sin and its effect).  However, God did provide a remedy!  The serpent of brass represented the curse and judgment.  Jesus was our sin bearer.  Jesus became accursed for us (Gal. 3:13).

Jesus said, “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” – John 3:14-15

Jesus said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” – John 12:32

Christ is calling the whole world to look to Him. Look and Live to be saved.

Brass speaks of Judgment. Our sins are the cause for Judgment. Every person who has ever lived will face God in Judgment. You will either face Him in Judgment at the Great White Throne as an unbeliever or at the Judgment Seat of Christ as a believer in Him.  The Great White Throne Judgment is only for unbelievers who have not accepted Christ’s payment for their sins. They are lost, headed for Hell and will receive a degree of punishment for their sins (Rev. 20:11-15). The Judgment Seat of Christ is for believers who have had their sins forgiven in Christ because they accepted His substitute payment at Calvary. They will not be judged for their sins as Christ paid for those on the Cross, but instead will be judged according to their works (or Christian service) for rewards or loss thereof. They will reside in Heaven forever (1 Cor. 3:11-15, 2 Cor. 5:10).

Have you looked to the Savior Jesus Christ and trusted in Him alone for salvation?

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:2

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” – Titus 2:13-14

There are only two groups of people living in the world today. There are those who are already condemned (still in their sins) because they have not accepted the sufficient payment of Christ (His sinless shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection as the substitute to God for their sins), and those that are no longer condemned because they have trusted in Jesus Christ alone, accepting His payment to deliver them from their sins. Which group are you a part of?

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” – John 3:18

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” – John 3:36
